A King Digital Entertainment começou hoje a caminhada para se lançar no mercado de ações e, para isso, divulgou alguns números sobre suas criações. Como a desenvolvedora fez nome basicamente graças a um único jogo, os dados que chamam a atenção vêm do Candy Crush Saga.
De acordo com a documentação liberada pela King, a cada dia 93 milhões de pessoas jogam Candy Crush, que hoje representa 78% das receitas da empresa.
No ano passado, a King faturou US$ 1,88 bilhão, dos quais lucrou US$ 568. São números comprovadamente relacionados ao Candy Crush, já que o game foi lançado em 2012, quando houve um salto financeiro: um ano antes, a King faturara US$ 64 milhões e lucrara US$ 617 mil.
O fato de estar tão dependente de uma criação torna a King tão vulnerável quanto a Rovio (Angry Birds) e a Zynga (FarmVille). E a estratégia é a mesma usada pelas outras duas: liberar títulos gratuitamente esperando que uma pequena parte dos jogadores pague por benefícios. No caso do Candy Crush, somente 4% (12 milhões) das pessoas costumam gastar dinheiro com ele.
